Here are a few articles and personal stories that describe most clearly the problems within Siddha Yoga. These posts appear again in the body of this website.

2023: Sexual assault victims of Muktananda file a lawsuit against SYDA.

2020: A survivor of Muktananda’s pedophilia goes public.

2002: A victim of Muktananda’s sexual abuse speaks out.

1995: An Open Letter. The first ex-member communication, originally posted anonymously on the AOL Siddha Yoga chat group  The Open Letter was the initial communication that led to the creation of the Leaving Siddha Yoga website. The principle author was Dan Shaw, others who contributed included the late Fran Cox and the late Alex Yourke.

1994: O Guru, Guru, Guru article by Lis Harris, New Yorker; November 14, 1994. The single most important published piece that explains the problems of Siddha Yoga. 

1983: The Secret Life of Swami Muktananda article by William Rodarmor, The CoEvolution Quarterly; Winter 1983.
